About Berlin
Berlin is steeped in history and has a unique atmosphere due to the fast and constant development it is currently experiencing. You can explore some of the richest museums, listen to world-renowned classical music or party all night in one of the city’s many cutting edge clubs. This city offers something for all tastes and interest.The city’s tumultuous recent past means that it is full of monuments such as the Brandenburg Gate, Tiergarten Park and the newly renovated Reichstag. Most of these are located in or around the Mitte district, however, to experience a different side to Berlin head to the Eastern districts such as the young and alternative Prenzlauer Berg, the culturally diverse and trendy Kreuzberg or the bohemian and happening Friedrichshain. Alternatively, the former Western districts such as Charlottenburg offer luxury shopping, modern architecture and cosy cafés.
In the summer you can enjoy a swim in one of the many lakes on the outskirts of the city or plunge into the river Spree at the popular Badeshiff. When the sun is out the rich café culture of Berlin really comes alive, and enjoying a late breakfast in the sun is the way most Berliners prefer to spend a summer Sunday. Berlin is known as one of the greenest cities in Europe but it can be bitterly cold and grey. Warm up by visiting one of the many saunas or by dancing the night away at the über trendy Berghain.

Market: To experience the buzz and creativity of the city; head to Mauer Park on an early Sunday afternoon. Here you can experience performing arts, lively music performances and pick up a few crafty souvenirs.
Shopping: Explore the eclectic shops along the trendy Kastanienallee.
Culture: Visit the museums on the Museum Insel, the island itself is worth a visit and is also a UNESCO Heritage site.
Architecture: The newly renovated Reichstag is worth a visit despite the often long queues and the glass dome, designed by British architect Norman Foster, offers a fantastic view of the city.
