About Copenhagen

The Danes are said to be the happiest people in the world and when you visit their capital you begin to understand why. It is squeaky clean, full of culture, the people are friendly and there is something tremendously stylish about it all.

It is also extremely easy to get around in Copenhagen; many streets are pedestrianised, and the locals pedal their way around on bikes. The fact that most Danes are fluent in English makes it easy to explore and feel part of the city.

Copenhagen is full of stylish design and furniture shops, and many of them are dotted along Strøget, which is the longest shopping street in Europe. There are lots of parks to stroll around, endless museums and galleries to enjoy and for a bit of people watching head to one of the bars on the famous and colourful Nyhavn Canal.

Even during the cold and dark winter months Copenhagen has a lot to offer; experience the cosy and warm café culture, visit one its many galleries. If you feel like treating yourself, it is also worth visiting one of the many Michelin awarded restaurants, such as the unique Noma or Ensemble.

Culture: Visit Louisiana, Arken and Glyptotek to experience some stunning art collections.

Architecture: Even without seeing a performance at the New Opera House is well worth a visit. It also offers a great view of the main castle: Amelienborg.

Seeing the city: The streets are filled with racks of bikes which can be unlocked for 20kr. Pedal along the canals, visiting cosy cafés and shops along the way.

Nightlife: The Meatpacking district has recently changed into a trendy and creative area, with a buzzing nightlife worth experiencing.
