About Houston
Houston may be a large commercial hub of Texas however, there are also many exciting and delightful sights and attractions to do and see. The city of Houston has a great variety of shopping, dining and drinking options and a permanent arts and theatre scene. The city has recently evolved its Downtown district into a residential and entertainment precinct, where great restaurants, bars, theatres and a live music scene, bubbles with activity. The Downtown area also features a lovely historic waterfront walk in the Sesquicentennial Park.Houston is famously home to the NASA base and a visit to the Houston Space Centre is therefore a must. Here visitors can see real space capsules and of course have the opportunity to experience the feeling of weightlessness. Houston also has a great range of natural attractions ranging from the butterfly houses at the Houston Museum of Natural History to the shark tanks train voyage in the Downtown Aquarium.
Houston is certainly not short of significant parades and events. The city of Houston holds the largest Livestock and Rodeo in America in February/March. Also of interest to many, is the annual ArtCar Parade featuring hundreds of cars turned into artwork.

Restaurants: Blending fine local ingredients with Mediterranean cuisine are the speciality of the popular and perhaps slightly pricey T’afia restaurant. For something simpler and more casual try the popular Breakfast Klub in the Midtown area.
Nightlife: Gaining a reputation for being one of the best bars/clubs in town, is the hip Belvedere. Sited in the Uptown/ Galleria area this slick venue features creative cocktails menus and regular promotional nights.
Culture: Houston is fortunate enough to boast a permanent Opera, Ballet, Orchestra and Theatre groups. Also available from March to October is the Miller Outdoor Theatre Company, presenting a range of performances for free in the Hermann Park.
Shopping: the Uptown / Galleria area features the best shopping in town. For something unique visit the trendy bar come denim store, 310 Rosemont in the River Oaks Shopping centre.
