About Las Vegas
Las Vegas, the city of sin. You may ask is it really all gambling, over the top hotels, mega star performances, show tunes and little wedding chapels? Too right. Las Vegas is loud, flamboyant, over the top, brash and in your face and that is why this place is so much fun. If living on the edge is what you desire, this is one 24 hour city that refuses to go to sleep.It’ll all happening on ‘the strip’, Las Vegas Boulevard, where the creative architecture is something only to be challenged by places like Dubai and Hong Kong. Don’t expect to do too much walking, you’ll find taxis are a must. The mere scale of the strip means it may take you 20 minutes to leave your hotel and another 20 to walk to the hotel next door.

Shopping: At the Las Vegas Outlet Centre you can pick up designer bargains without leaving the Vegas behind - there are hourly laser shows too.
Culture: Don’t expect to find much culture in Vegas. Living for today is the focus of this city, although the Neon Museum does keep records of the city's colourful past, from the 1940s to the present day.
Sights: The Stratosphere Hotel's Top Of The World restaurant provides an awesome view of the city's place in the vast desert. If you want to escape Vegas, head out to the Red Rock Canyon to experience some astonishing surroundings.
Nightlife: There are nightclubs at many of the big hotels, continuing the entertainment through the night. Try Tao at the Venetian, Pure at Caesar’s Palace or Jet at Mirage for some big nights. If you want a different night try the Double Down Saloon on Paradise Road, rumoured to be the hangout for the Hollywood crowd.
Gekko says: It gets hot in Vegas, so if you fancy a stroll along the strip the evenings are cooler and the fountain show at the Bellagio is a great experience. A week in Vegas is a long time and as a weekend destination for many you can pick up cheaper hotel deals mid week if that’s your preference.
