About Manchester
Manchester remains the cultural hub of Northern England and with its shops, theatres, museums, energetic nightlife and vibrant music scene there’s plenty to offer everyone. Mancunians definitely know how to have a ‘top’ night out.For bars, head to Deansgate locks, opposite Deansgate railway station, where you’ll find a few converted railway arches such as Revolution or Baa Bar. Head to the Northern Quarter and try out the Bluu Bar for some celeb spotting, the Northern or the Night and Day Cafe. Whatever your inclination, Manchester’s gay village, the famous Canal Street, promises a fun and fabulous night out with the boys.
If you desire something more refined, head to the Lowry Centre at Salford Quays where you'll find two theatres, contemporary exhibitions, the works of LS Lowry and some great views. The Museum of Science and Industry is free admission and is only a short walk from the city centre.

Shopping: Three shopping centres, the Trafford Centre, the Arndale and the Triangle, offer a collection of well known high street and designer brands, enough to keep any fashion conscious visitor busy. If that’s not enough, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols provide another shopping level.
Sports: Home to two football clubs, Manchester United and Manchester City, this is the perfect place to experience English Premiership football at its best.
Music: Head to the MEN Arena, which plays host to acts such as Lady Gaga, Stereophonics and Dizzee Rascal in 2010 is a fantastic venue to see your favourite artist.
Sightseeing: For a great view over the city try the Wheel of Manchester.
