About Mexico City
Mexico City has halved its crime rates and undergone incredible changes to become one of the most exciting and vibrant city destinations in the world today, so to let the reputation for crime and pollution keep you away, would mean missing out on something truly exceptional. The sheer size, never-ending streets and suburbs of Mexico City will impress as much as the variety of nightlife.Visit the historic, geographic and religious heart of Mexico at the Centro Historico in Zocalo. If you’re visiting in March you’re in luck as that’s when, the three week long festival del Centro Historico, takes place. The colourful festival features performances, cultural celebrations, dancing and exhibitions. To experience some more of the local flavour try the green expanses of the Almeda Central (Mexico City's largest central park) and mingle with families, workers and other tourists; it’s particularly busy on Sundays. For interesting and inspiring anthropological insight, the Museo Nacional de Antropologia (National Anthropology Museum) is one of the best in the world.

Nightlife: Up for a challenge? Then try to get in to the über cool confines of the Rioma bar in Condesa. Another great nightclub, which is still attracting a mix of travellers and cool locals and plays multiple music genres on several floors, is the fantastic Colmillo.
Culture: Mexico City comes to life, ironically, during the Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on the 2nd of November. The locals celebrate the return of the souls of the dead with bright garlands and tributes to their dead.
Architecture: For some outstanding Italian renaissance architecture the Palacio Postal is a must. Designed by Adamo Boari, the details and impressive scale of this postal building will surely impress.
Shopping: Casa de Azulejos (House of Tiles) is an amazingly beautiful and ancient shopping centre featuring all the modern shops and department stores. Many interesting Markets exist in Mexico City, showcasing some of the best local crafts is the Bazar Sabado in San Angel (Saturdays only).
