About Sarajevo
Friendly and welcoming locals from a range of religious and ethnic backgrounds, greet tourists into the now peaceful city of Sarajevo. Despite the recent war, the city now reflects a modern example of many cultures living peacefully side by side. Sarajevo is rich in history and architecture, which both reflect its complimentary and contrasting influences.A must see during a Sarajevo visit includes the site of the assassination of Crown Prince Franz Ferdinand (which started WWI) on the Spanish/Latin Bridge. Also, enjoy the rich influence of 500 years of Turkish rule in the Bascarsija quarter, this area and the town centre have been rebuilt and can now be enjoyed for their lively and vibrant café culture.
Visit the Winter Festival in February and March and enjoy some of the local and international creative celebrations. The Sarajevo Film Festival commences in August every year and despite limited budgets manages to bring large crowds and release high quality local, regional and international films.

Restaurants: try the small and cozy restaurant Dveri, which serves great local dishes with personalized service.
Nightlife: the City Pub draws in large crowds every night of the week. This venue offers a range of music from Jazz to RnB, which keeps the party goers going late into the night/early morning.
Culture: take in some of Sarajevo’s most gripping history at the Tunnel Museum. This tunnel ran under the Airport and was the site of exchange for food and injured people during the war. The tunnel also operated as a vital waiting point from where many hid for cover during the Yugoslavian war.
Architecture: Visit the Orthodox Church and take in the museum displaying Russian, Greek and local artifacts. Interestingly the Orthodox Church is on the same road as the Jewish Museum and the Catholic Church.
