About Seattle
Seattle may be more famous for such things as The Space Needle, the home city of Starbucks and Microsoft or maybe even the high rainfall, however the city has an abundance of character and culture that goes far beyond these. Seattle citizens are blessed with a city of lush green landscapes, water in the forms of lakes, rivers and bays and a thriving music and arts scene. Seattle continues to prove itself measuring well consistently in the world’s most liveable cities and also holding one of the lowest crime rates in the U.S.A.When the sun breaks through the Seattle clouds head to the Waterfront area, browse the shops and dine in the variety of restaurants. Alternatively, stroll the historic streets of the Pioneer Square, this area is the oldest in Seattle and is a great way to see the city’s unique architecture, pick up some independent labels or even shop for up-and-coming artist’s work, in the many boutique stores and galleries. On a rainy Seattle day, the city provides many world-class museums and indoor activities. The Seattle Art Museum has recently undergone a massive expansion, now housing outstanding permanent and temporary exhibitions.
If rain is going to dampen your plans, visit Seattle during the ‘dryer’ (and warmer) season in June, July and August. However, it is encouraged to embrace the damp misty, even rainy weather of Seattle and leave the umbrella at home - getting wet is just a fact of life here for the locals.

Nightlife: Seattle’s youthful bar and club scene is stretched out over many trendy neighbourhoods. From the gay-friendly bars of Capitol Hill to the swanky hip lounges of Belltown. Specifically, enjoy the fantastic cocktails in the relaxed atmosphere at The Sitting Room in the Lower Queen Anne area.
Culture: visit the outstanding and groundbreaking Frank Gehry designed Experience Music Project Museum. This amazing building is dedicated to archiving music from grunge, to rock to pop and houses fascinating sci-fi history in the Science Fiction Museum and a Hall of Fame.
Architecture: the Benaroya Concert Hall may have come at a great cost, but is now an amazing architectural highlight to the city of Seattle. The venue houses the city’s Symphony Orchestra and boasts (during clear weather) a grand view of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Range Mountains.
Shopping: the famous and historic markets of the Pike Place Markets are a must see and is also a great place to absorb some of the local culture and lively atmosphere.
