About Vancouver

Vancouver is famed for its scenic natural beauty, the host of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games and for its consistently high scores in the list of the world’s most liveable cities. All of these positive factors are part of the reason this is the fastest growing city in Canada as well as one of the most enjoyable holiday destinations in the world today. The majority of historic, artistic, shopping, dining and cultural highlights can be seen in the downtown area Gastown. This classic and historic city district, houses many great cafes and shops and also hosts several vibrant festival celebrations. Granville Island features more unique shopping opportunities, trendy diners and many artistic performances and galleries.

Visit Vancouver during the months between July and October, unless of course you intend to ski, in which case February is the peak snow season. The Vancouver winter often includes long and heavy winter rainfalls, but the locals don’t let it interfere with their daily life.

Nightlife: Vancouver has a distinctly proud and welcoming attitude to its gay community. Club Odyssey in the Gay district of Davie Street is one of the biggest and most frequented venues in town. For something more relaxed and traditional try the Yaletown Brewing Company, fitted with TVs, pool tables and a slightly more mainstream crowd.

Culture: Try the ever popular and vibrant music, theatre and performances held regularly at The Clutch in East Vancouver.

Architecture: The impressive International Buddhist Temple proudly demonstrates the city of Vancouver’s multicultural and religious variety.

Shopping: Yaletown features some of the best up and coming design labels, trendy furniture and home ware stores in Vancouver. The Aberdeen Centre offers an indoors alternative to the already impressive and well-stocked streets of Vancouver’s Chinatown district.
