About Washington

The United States’ capital: Washington DC has an abundance of museums and monuments, the most famous naturally being the White House – home to the American President. The city does, however, lack skyscrapers and shiny glass facades, which gives it a distinctly more European feel. Amongst all the diplomats and people on business trips, you’ll find the locals, who are known to never pass an opportunity for a political debate.

See the city from a different perspective by taking a riverboat cruise of the Potomac River, passing important monuments on your way. Stroll along the cobblestone streets of the historic village Georgetown, stopping by one of the quaint cafés along your way. A visit to the Constitution Gardens is a nice way to have a short break from the city.

The best time to visit is in Spring when the cherry blossoms lining the Potomac River, bloom and add a cheerful feel to this beautiful city. The summers see the city packed with tourists and the temperatures can rise to uncomfortable highs. In the winter months the city is often plagued by snowstorms.
